1985 BMW 6 Series 635CSi For sale: 1985 BMW 6 Series 635CSi – a true classic that’s been lovingly cared for and garage kept in my D.C. apartment ever since I brought it from Arizona. This car is completely rust-free, which is incredibly rare for a 6 Series of this vintage. Nearly all the work has been done by me, my brother, and a close friend—all experienced mechanics—so it’s been maintained with passion and precision. I hold a clean title, and while the tires were recently replaced by a shop, I can provide all FCP Euro parts receipts and the tire invoice upon request. It absolutely kills me to sell this car, but with a move to NYC ahead, I just won’t have the space to keep it. If you’ve been looking for a clean, well-maintained E24, this might be the one. Vehicle history reports available upon request. Work since purchase includes: - New front tires and alignment about 2,000 miles ago - Before changing tires and realigning, I replaced the front upper and lower control arms - New alternator - New replacement radio - 2 new batteries (both come with car) - Replacement of all relays in the fuse box - Replaced power steering seals with repair kit from FCP Euro in the last year along with replacing power steering fluid - I replaced the circuit board in the instrument cluster along with all panel lights. This still did not fix an unworking tachometer, so I also bought a full replacement gauge cluster that is in the trunk of the car that has a working tachometer. The existing cluster just needs to be pulled and the tachometers switched - Replaced blower fan - Replaced original steering wheel with original 1980 solid teak wood steering wheel - There is a replacement AGM battery in the trunk, full set of brake pads, new in box Bosch starter, second gauge cluster, trunk trim piece, FCP Euro parts boxes for right window seal that has a slight crack, dash carpet for those whole like them, FCP Euro parts to fix windshield wiper fluid tubing, tire air pump and patch kit, old wooden binder of previous owner records and receipts, original steering wheel, and I will give you the collection of tools I keep in the car in a nice neat Dewalt box. I also have two wheel chalks and ramps that I will no longer need. The ramps are in my apartment but fit in the trunk if you want to extra space for other things. Current Issues: Rough idle at start. If I had the time I would smoke test it to see where the leak is in the system. After running for about 2 minutes the roughness goes away. Might be worthwhile changing the spark plugs while doing this too. There is an issue with one of the alternator adjustment bracket bolts that I have worked around for the last 5k miles but would be a fun Saturday project one day.
