1965 Chevrolet Impala SS This 1965 Chevrolet Impala SS is a beautifully restored classic with a powerful 396 motor paired with a 2-speed Powerglide transmission. Originally undergoing a frame-off restoration, the project stalled due to the previous owner's passing. After picking it up in Kentucky, I meticulously reassembled and refreshed it as needed, ensuring everything was safe and fully operational. The transmission was redone with a stall speed converter, and while it already had front disc brakes, I upgraded the rear brakes for improved stopping power. The interior was completely redone with new seats, panels, and a headliner, along with new wiring harnesses and exhaust. This Impala is a fantastic cruiser, effortlessly hitting 70 mph on the highway, and delivers a satisfying roar in first gear around 35-40 mph. While the current rear gears provide a smooth ride, those looking for quicker off-the-line acceleration could make a change, but I prefer it just the way it is—built for cruising in style.
